Jo, how wonderful, many congratulations to you! hope it lasts now.....
Caz got checked out and all is ok, they didn't really know what it could have been! but apart from sneezing being agonising still, she is recovering bit by bit.....

We had a good talk about what the Doc at the Christie said to Caz, that it could have been pleurisy or blood clot in her lung......well, pleurisy makes you feel really ill, and you can hear as well as feel the breath sounds ( I know, have been there!) and a lung blood clot wouldn't have responded to a massage which she had while away, it helped her back pain for quite a few days! I suspect it was a result of the fall she had, she probably twisted a bit while going down. On the good side, her x-ray and blood tests were fine.
Also, Dr Anas Younes ( a consultant in Texas, USA) put on f/b and twitter on his threads about musculo-skeletal problems as well as heart troubles a while after heavy chemo being distinct possibilities long term, and it made me think that could explain it too.

Well, the garden has been pretty productive this year, we have just taken the netting away from the soft fruit, as there are only about 3 or 4 blueberries left to ripen, all the rest has been picked......runner beans have been superb, given lots away (some to our intrepid next door neighbour who did a sterling watering job while we were away) potatoes weren't too bad, they are now in a cotton bag in the dark.....peppers, chiilis, apples, brussels, cucumbers, tomatoes, all still growing and doing ok. Jams made, runner beans frozen......exhaustion following, lol!
Caz is quietest when things are ok......I hope this time that is true! Mind you, she might just arrive at the door asking for more runner beans, she just loved them!
love and hugs to you all

Hi Helen
Your manic jam-making and freezing sessions remind me so much of my Mum. Though when I was young no-one had a fridge let alone a freezer. She used to salt down the glut of runner beans in big sweetie jars.......to be soaked, washed and cooked in the cold dark days of winter and especially at Christmas. Dad would put some new potatoes in an old biscuit tin and bury it to keep for Christmas too!!! It worked a treat....and we were the bees knees(!) - cos none of my friends had those for their Christmas Dinner!!!!
I have a lovely recipe for Strawberry jam that doesn't require cooking - it tastes really fresh and fruity and can be stored in the freezer - if you have room alongside your beans!!! It doesn't always set properly - but that doesn't matter as it makes a good ice cream sauce too - or over warm plain sponge for an ocassional pudding treat!!! Ooooooh shouldn't have said that - my mouth is watering at the thought!!!!!!
I do so hope that Caz is feeling a lot better - as they say '...no news is good news...' And you too having problems I see?? Ah the penalties of getting a bit older.........so frustrating not to be so agile any more.......
Love and (((hugs))) to you both - and your menfolk too

Hi, not been here for a while. Helen, sorry Caz is having problems at the moment, I hope it resolves soon. Such a talented girl should not have to forgo her pasion for music due to illness. I wish her well.
Wow, home made jam. Clever you. I love home made/homegrown produce but unfortunately don't have a garden. I hope you all enjoy your efforts in the months to come.
Jo, congratulations on your 'remission'. How delighted you must be.

Take care everyone and have the best evening you
Having relied on it when my very close friend was first diagnosed with cancer, I haven't visited this website for a long time but I thought I would visit with the news that my friend's cancer treatment appears to be finally working and she got this news at almost the same time as the news that she has just been offered her dream job and as someone she really likes has asked her for a dinner! I just have to hope that the good news continues.
Hello, Z Smith, hope that continues to work well for you all....
