Hi everyone i am new to this but i find this websit a great comfort. Going to take my dad to Oxford today to see a consultant. We are very scared as he has cancer of the oesphagus and emphysema. I am a very positive person and holding it together for my wonderful dad but am feeling a liitle scared now as the last consultant told me when my dad walk out that his cancer is aggressive and he has a couple of months. Shame can only drink ensure. he would love to have a chip buttie. Hope we can hear some good news.

Bad news Mum's tumors have grown, not sure full extent but its not good, feel incredibly gutted, was on the phone with her for a few hours last night, her trying to console me not the other way round................. feel guilty for that.
I was fine had a few tears when she told me and when Kev got in. Then I slipped coming out of the shower and boom one emotional break down...... caused by slipping. Silly huh.
Mum seems ok she knew it had grown herself as part of the tumor is growing on the outside. But it just feels like such a big shock after her radio treatment last yr and the tumors shrinking so much. She has hospital next week, so will find it all out then.
Take care everyone

Dear Helen - hope it's not too tiring being 'on duty' at Bletchley?? You will soon not have time to think about it as the 'season' gets busier.......Us touristy types like to ask awkward questions........
Love and (((((((hugs))))))) to you, Caz and your menfolk

I have to confess, BP IS tiring but great fun too, being able to explain it all to folks.......found the need to talk about Alan Turing to two different sets of people yesterday, his was a superb brain that developed the ideas for the first computer as well as an electro-mechanical method of breaking the Enigma code. Such a sad ending, he felt so isolated and tormented that he ended it all with cyanide, an apple with one bite out of it was found, many feel that was the inspiration for the Apple logo used by AppleMackintosh!
We are there again for 2 days next week, must be a bit mad as it is 9 to 5, (hmm, thinks of Dolly Parton tune!)
Caz is doing ok, hope her flights will be ok when she goes to Morocco soon, many are cut today because of Iceland volcano!
Love and hugs to you all
Moomy
Hi Helen,
So glad you're enjoying it. I will have to get there one day. Hope your two days next week go well.
Hope Caz's flight will be ok.. My sis was due home from Switzerland tonight (she flew out yesterday for a meeting via Birmingham), but is now struggling to get home. She has managed to book on the Eurostar at 7am tomorrow, as it's chocca tonight, but has to get an internal flight to Zurich, which is still on at the moment, but may be cancelled & then fly Zurich to Brussels to catch the train. Fingers crossed for her.
xx
