The (now only mildly) radioactive one is checking she has a pretty colourful top for tomorrow, Andy had said bright colours please, no black for his funeral.
she is fine and slept really well, she said, not being woken by some nurse saying 'do you want a cup of tea', or the buzzer going.....she said many of the regular staff got to know her and left her to sleep, getting her medication to her about late morning or lunchtime, making sure she had the other two doses spaced out well after that! She had to take iodine to help dissipate the radioactive stuff.

Wonderful news, Helen, my thoughts are with you all having Caz home with you Must be very heartfelt for Caz with playing for her friend. Big hugs for her.
The problem of the fridges is a prob I had lots of when my son wasin the spinal injuries unit for over a year.. Its sad to hear the problem still is going on in hospitals. Lots of love and hugs to you all , dee xxx
awww, Dee, thank you for popping in to send me that post.....Caz went to rehearse her solo last night and stayed for the whole prac to help her lip get back into shape after the week lay-off, sounds odd, but like an athlete, brass musicians have to keep their lip and mouth muscles in good shape for playing, together with their lungs too. son popped in to check on the number of chairs needed for today, and where, in his 'boss' mode as Funeral Director, said she sounded wonderful.
We have all been wondering about what to wear that isn't black! I have chosen a multi black -grey- white printed pair of trousers, (I normally wear black ones, so not easy!) together with a white knit top and crimson voile scarf. Hmm, hope it will pass muster....
My love and hugs to you all

It was a very moving service, the church was really full, our two did us proud, son as Director and Caz as part of the band and her solo was just amazing. She played 'Autumn Leaves', appropriate for the occasion. We as proud parents heard comments from folk who didn't know us, of how good that trombone solo playing was! Wow!
We met up later on at a send off wake for Andy in a local hostelry, there was a big board with photos of him, a lovely touch.
Caz is now fiercely trying to build up the stamina she has lost!
Love and hugs to you all

Caz left here about 5.30, driving back to her place. She may come down for a couple of parties, but we will see her on Christmas Eve up there....

Hi Helen - so pleased that Caz feels well enough to travel north once more. Is her radio-activity closer to normal levels now?? How long before you know the outcome? I do so hope that all is well for her for some time to come..........Love and (((((hugs)))) to you all Dot xxxxxxxxxxxxx
hi, Dot, thank you for the candle..... we don't know what her radioactive count is of course, but it is expected it should be 12 to 15 by this weekend, and then she will be allowed to sit with people!
Apparently the treatment will continue working even as late as the end of February, radiation dies in a half life way,(I'm sure you remember all about this when the Chernobyl disaster happened and there was much discussion about how radiation lessened) meaning that in fact, it never ever gets as low as zero! (if one halves a figure, then it can never go to zero!) But she now has a letter to hand to the airport security folk to explain why she will set off alarms when she goes off on tour this weekend, with Sting!
I understand all of us shrug off radiation in normal daily life ,at a rate of about 2,800 units per year! Astounding, eh?
My love and hugs to all

Morning Helen - it must be like living with a whirlwind - Caz is always so busy ...........I guess the longer the radiation keeps working the better. We don't always realise just what we're in contact with on a day to day basis do we??? Any news on the CD yet???? When is the launch to be??? Take care.......Love and ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) Dot xxxxxxxxxxxxx
