Is a Macmillan Nurse only assigned to you if prognosis is "terminal"?

I apologise for asking what may appear such a stupid question but as this is all so very new to me, I really don't have a clue

  • Hi Mystic Lady (lovely name!)

Not a stupid question at all, but no, Macmillan nurses are not assigned only to the terminally ill.

They deal with any and all types and stages of cancer, and any prognosis.

Sometimes (I have actual experience of this), they are even assigned where cancer is strongly suspected, but not yet formally confirmed, so they are on hand to help the patient deal with their diagnosis.

    Hope this is some reassurance.

    Kind wishes.
