Hi everyone
My mum was given the cancer diagnosis in March this year, she had a reduced chemotherapy session in April and fell ill with pneumonia and sepsis. No antibiotics would work then after 2 weeks in hospital one type started to work.
The gp visited her and gave her weeks to live. Gratefully she is still here. She now has pain in her legs and arms and walking is difficult for her, she was put on morphine and oxycodone slow release tablets but didnt take the pain away. The palliative care nurse has given her steroids and she is walking better and the pain has reduced thankfully at last.
Im just wondering i know the outcome won't change but how long do the steroids give her relief for and can they up them? I know her reduced kidney function plays a part in what mg of pain medication they can give her.
Thank you for reading, any thoughts and experiences are appreciated.
