Has anybody else (with or without ADHD) found radiotherapy for breast cancer surprisingly emotional? Having to lie still, the deep breath hold, the utter vulnerability, not trusting your body, such a stark environment - all overwhelming, right? I’m normally a logical, practical person but this week I just keep bursting out crying. I thought I’d pop on here and ask if anybody else felt the same.

I think radiotherapy is a difficult experience for many people. I found walking across a room with just a bit of paper to cover my boobs, and then being manhandled into position rather challenging. A bit like being a piece of meat, even though everyone was kind and respectful. I don’t know whether you have already seen it but this thread may be useful for you. Neurodivergence and Cancer

I'm Emma from the online community team. I'm sorry to read of what you are experiencing - it sounds incredibly overwhelming and difficult.
I just wanted to let you know of our Neurodivergence and Cancer thread which would be a good place for your post. Currently, there are some discussions around ADHD and cancer so it may be worth adding your comments to that discussion where others with shared experience can offer their support.
We also have a Breast cancer forum which may be a good place to post if you are looking for peer support specific to your cancer type.
