Hey all. I’ll just start by saying how inspired I’ve been reading through the forums.
im starting my own journey now with a new diagnosis on September 11th. 1b melenoma which was removed 3 weeks ago and now awaiting the sentinel node biopsies and wide excision. Obviously a little anxious about the outcome of these, I had spotted the mole 6 months ago, and being male and a nurse of course I blooming ignored it.
the other bit that seems to bother me more is what I tell people. I get I’ve had the official diagnosis of cancer, but almost feel a fraud telling people that as for all intents and purposes it’s been removed. It bugs me that I don’t want to be seen as being dramatic or something. It really is playing with my head I won’t lie.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I was diagnosed with melanoma 10 years ago.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you and can share their experiences of telling others that they've had cancer.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I'll keep everything crossed that your WLE and SLNB come back negative for further cancer cells.
