Hi I have kidney cancer the I was diagnosed over a year ago and after some messing about, delays and going to London to see about cryo therapy I've recently seen a specialist anaesthetist and it's been decided I'm too hight risk for an anesthetic as I have several other health problems so i cannot have surgery to have the tumor removed so I've been told I will have sabr( radiotherapy) witch is just palliative care I'm 58 I live alone I have a son I see once a wk mostly I don't really see anyone else it's pretty lonely dealing with this alone if I'm honest and pretty scary fortunately it's only small,so I'm lucky atm I just feel scared that there's no options but palliative care really any thoughts or comments welcome and I hope you're all doing ok
Hi Lora5727f433 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've had different cancer diagnoses to you I know how scared you're probably feeling right now.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the kidney cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
