Is my husband delirious

My husband has terminal bowel cancer and secondary lung cancer he has a stoma too. He was given until the end of 2024 to live. He is still alive now. The local Hospice has now asked for an assessment for both of us - I am his main carer. My son helps but he works from home. My husband doesn't seem to understand what is being said to him. He phoned me on Saturday from his hospital bed and talked to me. I phoned him back a few minutes later and he didn't remember calling me. He has been verbally abusive to staff and has also told me I am not looking after him well. He interrupted my son while he was working.

Has anyone else been through this stage.

  • Hi   and I am sorry to hear about your challenges.

I have been in my cancer journey for over 26 years with 4 cancers one incurable so I am in the other side of the fence so have no experience in dealing with this although at times my long suffering wife has said I had times of talking nonsense but my medical team put it down to some of the meds I was in.
