Im having my biopsy this morning due to the cancer coming back in my bone and ive been having panic attacks since 5 this morning. I know I need to go but im scared and dont know if I will get out the door. I know its early and too early to call any of my family. My girls are asleep and im scared of scaring them.

I used macmillan when I first had cancer 13 years ago and its bringing back lots of not good memories.

  • Hi  and I see it’s your first post in the community but sorry to hear about your concerns.

As you say these tests are unfortunately required to ensure that if required you need the best treatment available……. Once you get to the hospital do tell the staff as they will be able to help you through this.

I have had multiple biopsies including many Bone Marrow Biopsies over my 26 years cancer journey, first being diagnosed in 1999 at 43 with my first rare, hard to treat, incurable type of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma……. then Asbestosis in 2013……. then my second very rare, hard to treat very aggressive type of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma……. then in April this year I was also diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

What type of cancer are you being investigated for?

  • Wow you have been theough so much and still going strong.

I was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer in 2013 had chemotherapy, mastectomy and rads and then 10 years of AI tamoxifen and anastrozole.

I thought everything was going well I stopped treatment 2 years ago I thought I was done, until april.when I got very sick they thought I had burst my appendix and was sent for ct scan, wasnt appendix but the scan showed matastasized in spine and pelvis.

Have been through not the best treatment and has took since april to get this far. The biopsy is to see weither the breast cancer has matastacised even tho they believe it has but need 100%.

Im not acared of procedure I do have extremely bad anxiety and this has brought it on really bad being sick etc and now im not allowed to eat or drink im due to go in at 9.30 its getting there thats making me panic I feel so stupid for feeling like this.

Thank you for responding I really appreciate it.

  • Hi Dmac1971.  I too had lobular breast cancer in 2013.  Had op, chemo, radiotherapy and tamoxifen.  Diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in November 2024.  Have mets in pelvis, spine, ribs and skull.  I had a CT guided bone biopsy on my pelvis, went in through my lower back.  I am glad it is over and hopefully yours is now too.  Please don't feel stupid, this is a very scary time for you.  My cancer is now stable with the treatment I am on.  Good luck and please let me know how you get on.
