I really thought my mum might support me through my breast cancer battle was diagnosed 7th July she said how she’s here for me Well she’s been ignoring my calls & texts & has been telling everyone that I’ve got breast cancer & how she’s helping me through it so I texted her on Friday explaining how I thought she would be here for me etc & said I’m calling & texting but getting ignored did she say sorry no she said she was unwell & unable to do anything which I know isn’t true she’s been out with friends. I’ve decided I need to cut myself off from her as too much stress My husband thinks I’m overreacting but I just don’t need the stress. I have my hubby son daughter & even a great neighbour who are here for me I can also come on here surely it’s my choice

When my wife was diagnosed her brother was very supportive though his wife was somewhat distant and we think that was partly before she had recently had her own battle with cancer and so things were still a little bit raw for her. Then my wife's sister decided to "help" as well and ended up with something of a big blow up.
There was a friend who lived near us who was amazingly supportive - a true friend in need.
I am glad you find good support on here and with your family, I can understand how for the moment you need some space from your mum but perhaps it might be worth not cutting things off totally.
