Hi,
I’m 29, three and a half months postpartum with my first child, and last week was initially diagnosed with a well-differentiated, large liposarcoma. The tumour was found by chance in my abdomen area after an emergency c-section, which I am so thankful for (I had absolutely no idea it was there due to no symptoms!)
I have somewhat come to terms with this, and I am having a CT scan this week to confirm if it has spread and where it might be connected to in preparation for surgery and any other treatment. I’m feeling positive but I know it’s going to be challenging with a baby. Luckily I have a great partner and family, but I worry about recovery after surgery/treatment and not being able to properly look after my son in such an important developmental stage of his life. I currently breastfeed (alongside bottle feeding), so I know this will be impacted too.
Are there any other new mums/younger mums out there, or anyone who has navigated parenthood with cancer and can share experiences?
