My mum is 78 and going through single cell lung cancer,  I've been doing EVERYTHING for her, is this too much? Do i force her to do things for herself? Tonight,  she laid beside her bedside,  shouted me up to get her pills from her bedside,  and didn't get them herself! Is she milking me? Shes going through chemo,  but I fear she's loosing independence.  HELP!!

  • Hi Mixedup I am sorry to ready about your Mum.  Maybe she is very scared and doesn't know how to deal with it all.  I do think that perhaps your should talk to her and explain how you feel.  She can do things for herself and should do.  She really does not want to lose her independence and become reliant on you.  This is not good for her or for you.  Hope you sort things out soon.

  • Hello

I am also so sorry to read about your mum. I agree with Lee ( in the post above, yes you should talk to her - the issue is you want to keep on the best of terms with her too.
