Insomnia

I am nearly 3 years in to prostap vaccinations every 3 months so nearly at the end of this phase of treatment. This began with a prostate cancer diagnosis ,radiotherapy. The hot flushes are kept to a minimum by taking sage leaf tablets from holland&barrett.advised by a consultant at St .James.

The insomnia follows a pattern.Bed at 9ish read a bit ,settle down awake at 12 ish sometimes a wee ,then 3ish then struggling to stay in bed til 4.30 5.

I dont think i worrying about what happens when the prostap vaccination stops but am i?

Regards

Bender

  • Hi   I have no experience in this but I see you have been posting in our dedicated Prostate cancer support group.

This group would be the best place to get support from other who are navigating the same journey to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

  • Hello ,

As my friend  has said, I'd definitely suggest you join our prostate community, it's a very friendly group, you'll find all sorts of information there and if you have any issues you're sure to get answers to your questions. You'll also be able to share your own experiences with others if you wish.

The answer to your question is yes, insomnia is a possible side effect when on prostap. I'm on it indefinitely and on average sleep only around 3 to 4 hours a night. Insomnia should disappear when you stop prostap but it's likely to take several months before you're back to normal.
