Hello all,
I am concerned about my lack of emotion.
I can’t understand if it is due to my mental illness medication, which is under control, or if i am in denial.
Has anyone else felt/feel like this?
my mum has stage 4 ovarian cancer and my brother has just been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer.
I am really concerned about my lack of emotion with all that is happening within my family’s health.
i feel guilt surrounding my emotions.
Hi Sammyfoxglove and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I was the one with cancer I know how a diagnosis can affect the whole family.
We all react differently and there's no right or wrong way to feel when you have loved ones living with cancer. You might find this resource from Macmillan on your feelings when someone has cancer helpful.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you also join and post in the family and friends group as you'll then connect directly with others who have a loved one living with cancer.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Sending ((hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
