Things have taken a serious turn. High temperature and more pain with a distended stomach. We are waiting for scan results. Hoping that they can do something about the ascites soon. Keep worrying we won't get to chemo at this rate.
Hi again LOPEDELOSLOBOS
I've just replied to your other post in the cancer chat group and hope that your husband is feeling better now.
Hi, thanks for your response. My husband is still in hospital. He was found to have a blood clot on the lung and a lung infection. He seemed to be getting better then late this evening he noticed his feet swelling. So I am waiting to hear what the doctor said. It's probably his liver failing more. I am terrified his liver will fail before he can get to chemo on the 15th June.
I don't find the website very easy to navigate, so sorry for any delays responding.
I'm sorry to read that your husband is still in hospital and I hope that he's soon able to come home. It must be a very worrying time for you both.
((hugs))
It's even worse today. Last night hospital his feet started to swell and the Oncologist said it's because the lung clot is putting pressure on his heart. It will take weeks for the blood clot to resolve and his heart to recover and the planned chemo has been cancelled until he is fit enough to have it. I asked about trials and other treatments but the consultant said none are possible at the moment. Is it true that there is nothing we can do? Trials are mostly dependent on fitness and he's at grade 3. We cried a lot this morning as we saw even palliative chemo become unlikely.
Hi LOPEDELOSLOBOS and I'm really sorry to read that your husband's planned chemo start has been delayed because of this lung clot.
I don't know if
there is nothing we can do
but if you post in the bowel cancer group, where I can see you've posted before, you'll connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as your husband and who will be able to share their treatment experinces. The quickest way to get back to that group is to click on the link I've created.
Sending virtual ((hugs))
