Hi all.
I had to call an ambulance for my husband who has advanced colon cancer. He had a temperature of 40.7 and a lot more abdominal pain than usual. His stomach is more distended than usual too. So we're in hospital and he has had morphine and fluids plus a scan. Has anyone had ascites drained in A&E?
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I'm sorry to read that you had to call an ambulance for your husband and that he's currently in hospital.
To give you more chance of connecting with others who have had ascites drained, can I suggest that you also post this in the bowel cancer group where I can see you've posted before. That way you'll connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as your husband. The quickest way to get back to that group is to click on the link I've created.
It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I hope your husband is feeling more comfortable soon.
