Hi there ok where to start so here goes my mum died of bladder cancer at 58 my dad died of lung cancer at 71 but now my sister 57 has a brain tumour my brother 59 has a heart tumour and I 49 haveowel tumour my brother sister and me all within last 6 months I don’t know if this is rare or unusual ect but thinking about it I found quite scary
I have oncology for the first time next Monday should I mention this ? I have no idea what to think tbh any advice help would be very welcome thank you in advance

I am sorry you are now facing your own cancer diagnosis after going through so much with family members. Yes, you should mention all the family cancers to your oncologist. Whilst it could be one horrible coincidence, for some cancers genetics can play a part. I don’t have a medical background and can’t tell you whether this is possible for the mix of cancers you report, but your oncologist will advise, and if it is appropriate, arrange screening.
