I have had 5 weeks of radiotherapy every day to my lower abdomen as I had endometrial cancer.I am not suffering radiotherapy diarrhoea which is excruciating to say the least.i cry when going to poo as I am so badly burnt down there.
Has / is anyone else experiencing this and if so what painkillers creams etc are you using and how do you cope as im not.
Hi Glama21
I also had endometrial cancer and also had radiotherapy.
Am not sure when you finished your radiotherapy but I recommend getting back in touch with your radiotherapists and/or CNS. I remember my radiotherapists saying that if I suffered any side effects or had any concerns to contact them at any point- even after treatment ended.
I found my radiotherapists really were the experts in managing side effects and if one thing didn't work, they could suggest something else.
The pain when you use the toilet and the burns need assessing so that they can recommend the best treatment. You may need something specific to help prevent infection and encourage healing.
Please do not suffer in silence, give them a call tomorrow am.
If you wanted to talk it through first, then give the Macmillan Support Line a call. There will be someone there from 8am.
I hope that things settle soon for you.
Jane
