Insurance for abroad 70 day trip Europe

Hi everyone, I’m hoping for a bit of advice please. My partner and I are planning a couple of long trips to Europe in our motorhome (around 70 days at a time), but I had breast cancer last year and I’m finding travel insurance quotes really high. I want to make sure I’m properly covered, but also trying to keep costs sensible if possible. Has anyone in a similar situation found insurers that are good for longer trips (around 2–3 months) and reasonably priced? It would be really helpful to hear who you’ve used and any tips you’ve got. Thank you Blush

  • Hello ,

Ordinarily I would suggest Albert &  Eddie, a comparison site owned by the same company which owns Insurancewith and Holiday Safe (unless you've already tried). Their standard trip length is 31 days, but if you get an online quote 'phone them and they might be prepared to extend.

I hope you can get something sorted.

  • Hi I've had treatment for breast cancer and, like you, go abroad for extended holidays in our motorhome.

I use Nationwide Building Society's Flex account as it gives annual insurance coupled with European breakdown insurance for £18 per month. You have to declare existing medical conditions, which will probably incur an extra payment, and if you go away for more than 31 days at a time there's an additional premium.

You can get a quote on Nationwide's website before committing yourself to opening an account with them.
