Ok where to start. Oh yes I did it i sat nearly still for the 5 hours in the hospital.  No one told me the flushes between chemo and god knows what they put in the bags lol but I have a very weak bladder new meds were just working now... well let's just say I'm  glad someone told me to wear loose trousers no zips no ties. The 100 meter  dash for yet another wee pushing the trip hazard of the drip with me.( I fall over my own two feet.) Then the balancing act of the frozen head under the cold cap...Plased to announce no accidents this time.

Oh I did my first round. Had an allergic reaction to the anti allergy meds.. Nothing new i do the hay-fever tablets.  Lol.

Nurses all lovely.  Then the med bag for home wow. Warning do not read side effects when alone in early hours..

I dont seem to get high temp mine keeps dropping.  Had chemo Friday been very tired and head a little fuzzy. Unfortunately not enough to sleep. Blinking heartburn not nice and this morning since 3 been wide awake. My feet ache so obviously need to keep an eye on that. But whats with the itching? Is this normal?

Have breast cancer had first 2 chemo drugs and immunotherapy..

Not sure if this is the right place to write this i just needed to write it. May be more a blog thing.. titled Hormonal woman off her meds With all new meds and hypochondriac!!

Sending love and positive vibes. As I still got to plant some sunflower seeds today.

  • Hi

It’s absolutely fine to post here about your experience of starting chemo. It brought up memories for me of being up and down for a wee constantly while I was undergoing mine, and dragging my drip stand behind me, hoping the loo would be unoccupied!

You can start to write a blog if you’d like to, and keep track of how you progress in addition to posting in this group and the breast cancer group to see if others can share their experiences of chemo and things like the heartburn and itching. I had a different cancer, so different chemo, but did have bad heartburn which I mentioned and got tablets for which helped immensely. I didn’t have the itching though.

The link to creating a blog is here

Hopefully your sunflower seeds being planted will give you a lovely display of happiness which you can look forward to, and best wishes for your continuing treatment.

  • Thank you. I cant work due to the children so im home alone which is never good for me  . So I think a blog would just be helpful.  I'll have a good later. Thank you so much for just responding it means such a lot that someone is there x

  • I’m retired and home alone a lot and it’s good to find things which occupy your time.

Funnily enough, I’ve never written a blog on here, but I have done a lot of writing-documenting my own story and having “discussions” just with myself about things I was interested in around cancer, diagnosis and treatments. Things like the things people say to you, toxic positivity, the use of certain words around cancer like all the fighting/battling terminology. There are all sorts of things I’ve written which I keep in a big file.

I found all of this really helpful, just to get things out of my head and put it down on paper-I’m still a writer rather than a typer! It was good to have every stage documented too so that I could go back and read how certain things happened at certain times and how I was feeling. I have a terrible memory nowadays since having a stroke, so I’m really glad I have this written record of everything.

Like a blog, I feel it should have a name/title but have so far not managed to come up with anything! I hope you do decide to write your own blog and that you’ll find it helpful too.
