Nodule in front of right hip

Hello there

I don’t know if anyone out there can help me but I have recently ,2024 , had bowel cancer , I have Lynch and had an extended right hemi colectomy. My last CT scan showed a small nodule near my right hip and they want to investigate further with an MRI. They have said the rest of my body is clear but I’m obviously very worried.
I was wondering if a ‘spread’ is different for us with Lynch ?
I’m trying to think positively, particularly as I feel well.
Thank you for any support you could give me.

  • Hi  and welcome to the chat group.

I’m not sure if anyone in this general group will have had the same experience, but I can see you’ve made your post in other groups too. That will widen the audience of members who will see your post and might be able to share their experiences.

I’ve not had bowel cancer(though I’ve had bowel surgery and removal) and I don’t have lynch syndrome myself. However, I’ve had experience of unexpected “things” being found on scans, so I understand how worrying it is.  For me, I’ve needed to have further scans and x rays to get to the bottom of these, and there have always been explanations, luckily none of which were cancer. One of them was an issue with my hip but initially the doctors couldn’t decide what it was. It turned out to be severe osteoarthritis, although I had definitely feared it might be a spread of my cancer.

It’s definitely good to try and think positively, but I know that worry can make that difficult. It’s also good that you feel well.

I hope that others will be able to respond soon to your posts, but I wanted you to know that your post here has been seen and you are welcome to post in the group any time. Hopefully you’ll get your scan soon and you can be reassured.

    Sarah xx
