hope I'm in the right place

I am a 34 year old man with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer, it's spread to the bones, kidneys and liver. Was diagnosed in November, it was already stage 4 when found.

I have had one dose of pembrolizumab then unfortunately on the second one had a severe reaction so it had to be stopped, then I had to have one dose of radiotherapy on my back due to nerve issues in the spine which had first been noticed when I went to stay at a hospice for a few weeks for pain management and they had sent me to hospital from there. After all that and then when I got back to the hospice they were amazing with everything I can't thank them enough. Unfortunately two days after coming home I fell over *sigh* on my back it seems to be getting better I think, here's hoping.

Meeting with oncology in a few days to discuss new treatment which is probably going to be chemo quite scared about that and what it's side effects will be like.

  • Hi

My name is Chelle and I a community champ from the Lung cancer forum

I am really sorry you have had to come and join us here on the forum. Getting a cancer diagnosis is very scary, and we do not expect it as such a young age. I was 39 when I was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma, and then 5 years later it came back in my lungs. Even then, although I was extremely breathless and coughing up blood, I was naive to believe it was a chest infection. I was told straight away that it was incurable, but treatable, so here I am 12 years later.

If you would like to come and join the Lung cancer forum just click on the link I have created and you can join in the same way you have here. In the lung group you will meet lots of people at all stages of diagnosis, and will be able to connect to others who are just starting chemo themselves.

I will look out for you there to welcome you to the group.
