I am feeling really anxious, can’t eat which doesn’t help. Dry mouth feel really sick. Feel I had got my head round my recent breast cancer diagnosis but now been told possible bladder cancer. Supposed to have surgery on Wednesday but now not sure if it will go ahead. My mental health is declining and I am really worried

  • Hi  and welcome to the Macmillan community,

I can feel your worry and anxiety coming through in your post, and it’s a very difficult time for you to be going through with the concern of a second possible diagnosis hanging over you.

This is a general chat group, and it’s absolutely fine to post here, but we also have other groups for specific types of cancer and experiences which might help give you support you with everything going on.

As you’ve mentioned a recent breast cancer diagnosis, I’ll give you the link to the main breast cancer forum here

if you are undergoing tests for possible bladder cancer, this group might be helpful for you

Is your potential surgery for your breast cancer, or to check for bladder cancer? Lots of other members will have experience of both, so I’d recommend joining the groups I’ve linked in and making new posts to introduce yourself.

I can appreciate how much our mental health can take a battering with any kind of cancer diagnosis-I’ve certainly experienced that myself-so I wonder if you’ve spoken to your gp to see if you can get help with this? I was given medication, with definitely helped, and was able to take advantage of counselling, which was also very useful for me.

Please keep in touch with us and let us know how you’re getting on-there will always be help and support for you here.

    Sarah xx
