Hi Marshie,
I too am new to this site, and I must admit that I’m finding these forums quite difficult to use. I am awaiting my diagnosis and finding things extremely stressful. I’m not yet in a position to offer advice on how to cope with it all and I go into emotional overload quite frequently. I manage to make my evenings quite pleasant by watching nature and travel programmes on the tv and enjoying a glass of brandy before bed. It is the night hours that I find very difficult though, every time I go to sleep my doom fairy visits me and reminds me how terrible things are and I wake up in a cold sweat. My answer is to get up and make some coffee and visit these forums looking for mental tips and new ways to cope with things. Everyone seems to be patient and helpful. Good luck to you.
Hi Marshie and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've had different cancer diagnoses to you I know how difficult dealing with a cancer diagnosis can be.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you also post in the womb cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.
You might also like to join the living with incurable cancer group which is specifically for people with a metastatic diagnosis. The other group members talk about all sorts of things and not just cancer related.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Thanks for taking the time to share what you find helps you cope with Marshie, but I'm sorry to read that you're finding the community difficult to use. If you can tell me what you're finding difficult, I'll be pleased to try and help.
Anne
