Letrozole and tumour size

I have estrogen positive invasive ductal carcinoma - Grade 2 - her2 negative and progesterone negative - diagnosed in March last year. On letrozole.

The tumour is 3.4 cm central right breast (behind) nipple. The only option I have been given is mastectomy because of tumour size in relation to breast size. Smaller breast :(

I am disappointed I have not had more shrinkage - on letrozole since 19 May last year. They are telling me now it is stable disease but they don't think waiting 5-6 months longer is going to make any difference.

Has anyone had better success the longer they are on it?

I would be so grateful to hear your experience.

  • Hi

I hope you don't mind but I've just seen your post and wanted to suggest that you also post this in the breast cancer group, where I can see you've posted before, as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you and may also be taking letrozole.

Wishing you all the best with whatever you decide to do
