  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I know how anxious it is waiting to hear what results mean.

You might like to post this question in the Ask a Nurse section of the online community as they be able to interpret the results for you. If this is something that you'd like to do, just click on the link I've created.

The Community Guidelines don't allow members to try and interpret results as we are not medically trained and might get it wrong.

I hope you don't have too long to wait to find out what the results mean.

  • I’m really sorry you’re going through this — that waiting period after seeing results but before speaking to a specialist is incredibly hard.

I can’t diagnose or interpret results in a medical way, but I can share some general context that may help a little while you’re waiting.   I think “Invasive carcinoma of no special type” is actually the most common form of breast cancer, and Grade 2 sits in the middle range, not the most aggressive. HER2 positive (3+) means there are very effective, well-established targeted treatments available nowadays, which has made a big difference for many people.

The fact that one lesion is clear is also important, and Ki-67 gives doctors information about growth rate to help plan treatment , it’s not something you’re expected to make sense of alone.

What you’re feeling right now is completely understandable. Try to remember that biopsy results are just one piece of the picture, and your team will go through everything with you properly at your appointment. You don’t have to carry this by yourself
    Sending you strength and calm.

  • Hi Anna

thank you, yes the waiting is the hardest part until we see a consultant and plan the treatment I do not feel I can move or make sense of anything but I do know I have to be strong for myself , and having people to talk to cry to will be a big help as many have already started the road of recovery and can help in many ways it’s just keeping it together to we know the treatment plan, thank you again x

  • You’re so right  the waiting really is the hardest part. That in-between space can make everything feel frozen and overwhelming, and it’s completely understandable that you’re struggling to make sense of things right now.

You don’t have to have it all together. Being strong doesn’t mean not crying or not feeling lost , it just means getting through each moment as it comes. Having people to talk to, cry with, and lean on can make such a difference, especially those who understand this road already.

Be gentle with yourself while you wait for the plan. You’re doing the best you can in an incredibly difficult situation, and you’re not alone in it. sending you strength x
