Referred to Urologist

Hi all

i’m new to this group, just thought I’d come along to find out people experience as I have been referred to a urologist urgently (within 2 weeks I should have an appointment).

Roughly 6 weeks ago I felt a very tender spot on my left testicle, which is no longer painful however a small, grizzly like lump (roughly pea sized) appeared over a few days.

I immediately contacted the GP, who sent me for an ultra sound. I had a phone call today saying they have referred me to a urologist as they found something suspicious - an increase in blood flow to the testicle

The lump is in my left testicle, however the scan was focused around my right testicle for probably 80% of the time. She did ask me where the lump was at the start but didn’t focus on the area too long - she did feel the lump also. Is this normal practise with the other testicle affecting the one with a lump on?

I’m hoping it is nothing to be concerned about, and am not too worried at this moment in time, I just thought I’d come on here to find out your experiences?

Many thanks for reading this

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I know how difficult it is waiting for tests and results.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the testicular cancer group, not because I think this is what you have, but because you'll then connect directly with others who may have had the same symptoms as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
