I went from feeling fit and healthy to waking in hospital after a seizure three weeks ago . I am now awaiting surgery to remove a brain tumour . It’s all been an enormous shock .i am lucky to be surrounded by the most amazing friends and family . I can just about cope during the day as I’ve distract myself but , boy the night are long . I am concerned that if I can’t get more than my 2 or 3 hours sleep that my health will deteriorate before my op . Any relaxing tips would be greatly welcomed.
Good morning Sadey. It is good you are surrounded by caring family and friends, I find a good support network helps x. I find night is hard sometimes. My mind races and its hard to switch off. There is a group on here 'Awake and up all Night' the chat helps when ive tried everything else. I have been having a relaxing bath before bed, lavender pillow spray, relaxing music. I also listen to a guided meditation sometimes . Im open to anything really. I hope you find something that works for you.
Hugs Lesley xx
Hello Sadey
A warm welcome to the online community from me, although I am so sorry to find you joining us.
That's a great post above from Beekeeper527494c with some very good advice. Can I just add that the Community is divided up into cancer specific groups and you may also wish to join the brain cancer group where you will "meet" others on the same or similar journey. Here's the link you need:
Just click on the link I have provided and once the page opens up, click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. You can then introduce yourself in the "new here - say hello" section.
If you do need any help in navigating the Community please do get back to me. I wish you well on your personal journey.
Best wishes - Brian.
