Apologies if this upsets anyone, i will be as sensitive as I can.
My dad died of colon cancer last year, stage 4, spread to his bones. Last few weeks ive been tired beyond belief, falling asleep all the time, lack of hunger and constipated. I put it down to my meds for pain (duloxetine), but a week ago I had blood in my stool, twice. So I went to the Dr and my FIT came back >200 ug/g.
Now I know I'm jumping the rope a little here, but with my dad dying, im worried. I felt this was a good place to ask.
Ive a drs appointment today, but would appreciate guidance from people beginning this journey of the unknown or people already on it.

I’m sorry to read about your dad passing, and can appreciate you will be concerned about these symptoms you are experiencing.
The best place to get support from people who are going through the same or have been through this is the Bowel Cancer group, which I see you’ve already joined. We are all patients or carers so no-one will be able to say if you might have cancer, but the next step after blood in your stool would normally be a colonoscopy where the camera will examine your bowel.
Not all colonoscopies result in a cancer diagnosis, as there can be many reasons for blood in the stool that are less serious. I’d expect your doctor to make a referral to see a specialist and take things from there. It will be difficult for you not to worry, I know that, but try to look at this being investigated now which is a good thing.
