Hi everyone, I went to the doctors this week as I had been constipated for a few months. The Dr found a lump when he did an internal examination. He prescribed laxatives which have worked. I’ve felt the lump. It’s like a hard marble when you push into the tissue between the rectum towards your coccyx bone. It’s not like it’s on the internal rim of the rectum. I’m waiting for bloods for what it’s worth and I’ve given in stool samples. I’m 43 with a 3 yr old and so scared. I’ve got to wait up to 5 weeks for a colonoscopy…..I’m goggling to death  and so worried. I can’t see it being anything other than cancer as it doesn’t seem to fit any other diagnose xx

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I know how scary the thought of possibly having cancer is.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the bowel cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have had a colonoscopy.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

Whilst the internet is a great source of information, make sure you stick to sites such as this one or Cancer Research to read up about the type of cancer you think you might have. There's lots of out of date information out there so it's important to stick to reputable sources.

    Wishing you all the best
