This is my first post on here.
I had a hysteroscopy, colposcopy and endometrial biopsy all done today under general anaesthetic.
I was  very fast tracked and all done within a week of my ultrasound which is quite scary. So all in its 10 days from my first appointment til the surgery today.
im post menopausal and started bleeding which lasted a month and got worse, with fainting and weight loss Thankfully i took pics of the progression of the bleeding as typically I had stopped bleeding by today. The consultant I saw a couple of days ago looked at the pics and put me straight in for GA procedures urgently within 3 days
I have to say I’m a little nervous as they did all procedures in one go and so rapidly.
I am quite sore and so tired and scared knowing it’s a long wait for results

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've not had the same procedures as you, I know how horrible waiting for test results can be.

As you know the online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the womb cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have had the same procedures as you. The members there should be able to let you know how soon they got their results.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

    Wishing you all the best

  • Hi -come over to the womb cancer forum where you can read the stories of other people.  I'm just over 2 weeks post hysteroscopy and was initially told 2-3 weeks for results. Then my letter said 14-28 days. I'm on 15 days so far and the waiting is hard. It is usual to be on a 2 week pathway for post menopausal bleeding. The weight loss will be worrying them but if it is endometrial cancer (and it may still be something like polyps) then a hysterectomy done early can be very effective. If the results suggest a problem you are likely to get an MRI before they decide what treatment is necessary.

Some people do get results more rapidly but you may need to chase - or get your gp to chase -  if it gets to 3 weeks and they have still said nothing.
