Hi does anyone have any tips for a non dairy diet , for this type of cancer? As all the NHS guidance involves adding milk to dishes and cheese . It's like the NHS is promoting the dairy industry - there's no advice if the patient cannot tolerate dairy at all. So any ideas?

  • Hi  I think it would be worth putting the same post up in our dedicated Gullet (oesophagus) cancer group also.

  • Hi Skywalker, basically yes dairy is the best to keep weight on as the fat obviously keeps things going if you can swallow soft foods then you can have anything

t may help to try eating softer foods such as soup, or jelly
and custard. These may be easier to swallow. You may also fnd
that eating small, soft meals 4 to 5 times a day is easier than 2 to 3
bigger meals. Blending foods you like may help you eat more. If you
cannot swallow anything, tell your healthcare team straight away

This booklet may help you but your Dietitian should be well prepared for your problem(s)
