I am just wondering if you have had multiple cancers.
I say this I have just been diagnosed with my 5th, Prostate, which I still have, left lower lobe, (removed) right kidney (renal cell carcinoma - burnt off) bowel cancer (30cm resection) All above primary cancers.
After a recent PET. scan I will having a wedge section removed on my right lower lobe, it is not known if this is a primary or metatasc.
Would like to hear if anyone has similar experiences
Hi, I was diagnosed with:Grade 2 invasive Ductal cancer (hormone positive). I am taking Letrozole. My surgery is scheduled for first week in December. The cancer was found when I had a CT scan for something else and the cancer at my nipple was spotted. I also have MDS which is a blood cancer and I have transfusions every 6 weeks.
im remarkably calm about the breast cancer (not so much the MDS though!). The surgeon suggested lumpectomy with radiotherapy . I really don’t want radiotherapy and discussed with the surgeon possibility of mastectomy without radiotherapy. I’ve since done research, spoken to folks who have been in the same situation re breast cancer. The topic of double mastectomy was mentioned. My thoughts are a double mastectomy with small implants and possibly tattoo nipple. I know that it’s not definite that the other breast will develop cancer: it certainly won’t if it’s not there (though I understand the surrounding area can develop cancer if one is very unlucky…) anyway my question is has anyone had or wished they had had a double mastectomy with a similar scenario. Any thoughts from anyone would be welcome
My sympathy for the MDS for which I have blood transfusions every six weeks. I also have breast cancer, both diagnosed in June. I thought I was the only one with two types of cancer. I’m more concerned about the MDS. You’ve been very unlucky. Are you having good care? My care has been excellent …
Hi 88Kitty8846405c and welcome to the community.
I’m sorry to read that you are dealing with two cancers, but I hope you’ll find the online community a supportive place to be.
As this is a general chat group and your question relates to your breast cancer, I’d like to suggest that you join the breast cancer group and post your question there so that you can connect directly with others who have the same cancer and treatments. This is the link
When you click on the link, it will take you to the group and you will see a banner across the bottom of the page which you can click to join. You need to be a member of the group to start a new post where you can introduce yourself.
We also have a group for MDS if you’d like to join and participate in that, and the link is here
