My husband has been going to Germany for TaCe and although being told it was going well, the NHS CT shows another story and states liver mets are a lot worse.
He’s been generally quite fit and well but last night had terrible right sided pain, ending up with an ambulance to A&E this morning where we still are.

They ruled out blood clots, CRP is high and ALP is on the rise although it’s always been above what it should.

we assume the liver capsule is swollen. Has anyone had anything similar and if so can this be treat or is this it, no chemo no further options?

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that it looks like your husband's TaCe treatment in Germany doesn't appear to have worked. It must be very disappointing, to put it mildly, to be told that the treatment was going well but that NHS scans have shown the opposite.

I can see from your previous posts that your husband's primary cancer was bowel so it might be an idea to also post this in the bowel cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have secondary liver cancer from primary bowel.

You might also like to join and post in the secondary liver cancer group. If this is something that you'd like to do, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending virtual ((hugs))
