Hi so I got a cancer diagnosis breast cancer and they sending me to these scan but they said that everyone who is starting chemotherapy has pat scan I was just wondering if this is true to be fair I am scared also they done a genetic test now I had someone ring me to book a video call with the genetics tream when I ask my she said at frist it so they can ask if I need any help and support then when I ask so does that mean it come back positive as I not had the results back yet she then changed and said oh that probably what it is I was just wondering if anyone eles had this

Each type of cancer requires different tasting.
I have lived with and been treated for 2 very rare types of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas for over 25 years….. I have never had a PET scan in all my years…….. but have had numerous CTs, MRIs and Genetic Testing.

My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. She has regular PET scans she also had genetic testing when she was first diagnosed. I think this is standard practice for breast cancer patients as the results will give the doctors a better understanding of the type of cancer you have. I had endometrial cancer and I have regular CT scans as they are better for my type of cancer. I hope this helps explain and I hope everything goes ok!
