So it’s been over12 weeks since my urgent referal. I’ve been in pain all that time

symtons are sudden lower back pain with hrs lump on lower left lumbar area. Shooting pain. Weight loss. Nausea. No appetite. Food tasting funny. Aching in lower back/ bottom area that on and off feel warm to touch. On and off sweats. Blurred vision. Bowel problems, cramps, wind, sudden diarrhoea and constipation. Bowels don’t feel empty. If not diarrhoea my poo is like thin ribbons., mucusy. Difficulty weeing, have to push hard to get a drip. And the last couple of weeks also muscle pain. Balance off, upper back sore, muscles on and off feeling bruised.  Probably misssd some off the symptoms as there are loads. but generally feeling dreadful and so tired.
. I had a spinal MRI which showed no nerve compression but there were incidental findings

-abnormal right kidney with large parapelvic cysts

-suspected mass in right adrenal gland

- mild left para-aortic retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy in mid abdomen

And also mild multi level ffacet joint osteoarthritis in lower 3 lumbar levels

-mild lumbar spondyllosis

-small central posterior disc bulge at L4/5 and L5-S1

It’s the first 3 that worry me more. I have a ganglioneuroma in right kidney that was found 5 years ago. It was benign and I’m an awkward place so had to leave it  only way to take it out would have been to take my kidney with it
Went to get some more painkillers fromP and she send a stool sample and a FIT test

so if anyone has managed to get this far and can shed any light I would appreciate it as I’m going out of my mind.
they are discussing both MRIs tomorrow at the MDT and then I hope I’ll know what’s going on.
it’s been so so long and I’m concerned and fed up of hurting.
Does anyone recognise these symptoms?
thanks everyone xx

  • Hi Lucybluebell

Gosh, that's some list of symptoms!

I'm not a medical expert, so can't suggest any one reason for your symptoms.....BUT I had tumours on both my adrenal glands (the primary being my right kidney). I then developed adrenal insufficiency as a result of immunotherapy treatment, and my symptoms of this included sudden loss of appetite, joint and muscular pains, fainting, low blood pressure....

So maybe some of your symptoms are due to the mass in your adrenal gland. Maybe not.

The only people who will be able to shed light on your symptoms are your medical team. I know the waiting is really frustrating and worrying, but hopefully they will be able to give you some answers soon, and come up with a treatment plan. If you are worried, the nurses on the Macmillan helpline are really good.

Hope you get some answers soon
