Today is results day.  Couldn’t wait for today to come but now it’s here I wish it wasn’t.  So many have been here already and some of you are still waiting.  We are all linked.  The support on here is amazing .  Knowing you are not alone is very comforting.  I will update later with my results and treatment plan.  Thank you for your support

  • Hi Sheelagh, was going to wish you well on the Awake forum but great you’ve opened a separate thread.

Everything is crossed for you today, please do let us know how you get on.

    Big hugs and positive vibes.

    Love Debs xxx

  • I’m gutted.  The hospital just phoned and I need another MRI to confirm the clip in they put in my right breast is in the correct position before surgery which means it’s have Cancer in both breasts.  So have to wait another week for results.  Feel I’m drowning

  • Sorry for the grammar errors

  • Oh hon, I am so very sorry to hear this. So they definitely have confirmed you have it in both breasts?

Have you also posted on the breast cancer forum?

My husband had head & neck cancer (tonsil, tongue and lymph nodes) so apart from giving you all my sympathy and support, I have limited knowledge about breast cancer. But I am more than happy to chat to you and give you virtual hugs.

Do you have anybody at home that can help you cope with all this. You must be worried sick.

    Love Debs xxx

  • Ah sorry ignore that, I see this is the breast cancer forum. Not sure why I'm seeing it as I don't belong. Perhaps it's because I chatted to you on another thread.

Hopefully somebody with more experience will pick this up as well xxx

  • The virtual hug means everything.  She didn’t say the words.  She didn’t have to.  I heard what she wasn’t saying.  Sounds like your poor husband has. Even through the mill x

  • Yes. It's been dreadfully frightening, the treatment was brutal and the recovery worse but we're getting there.

Anything I can do to help I will. Always here to listen. Xxx

  • Oh Sheelagh, I'm so sorry to hear this love.  Like Debs, my experience is also with head and neck cancer but I mentioned in an earlier post to you about my mum discovering a lump when she was 86.  It was in her left breast and when she got the diagnosis, she just told them to take it off, which they did, resulting in a mastectomy.  Her recovery was remarkable considering her age at the time, and she told them she didn't want any reconstructive surgery, again due to age.  She was never troubled again and lived well for many years after.

Sorry I can't offer practical help my lovely, but sending another virtual hug and hoping you've got good support to help you through this.

Take good care, love Gill xx

  • Hi

This is the cancer chat group, not the breast cancer group which is why you saw the post. Sheelagh started this thread separate to the wide awake thread, that’s all.

    Sarah xx
