My father is due to start his second cycle tomorrow and has been told they will be upping the dose from 75% to 100% as he has had no symptoms in the first cycle. Has anyone had this?
In my mind it is good he has no symptoms and it seems crazy to change the dosage, what would the benefit of this be please? He is at The Royal Marsden and so I know it is one of the best places to be taken care of. However I just want to understand the rationale.
Grateful of any advice as my mother of father wont ask questions at the hospital.
Many thanks
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I had a different type of cancer to your dad, I spotted your post here.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this in the oesophageal cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as you'll then connect directly with others who are having or who have had the same type of treatment as your father.
When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your father's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
