I has a lumpectomy and radiotherapy for high grade DCIS at age 49 16 years ago. I have recently been diagnosed with a large area of DCIS in the same area and now facing a mastectomy and reconstruction.
my consultant said I am very unlucky to have a reoccurrence after 16 years. I will not be able to under go radiotherapy this time.
I am very overwhelmed with this news and wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation.
