Hi everyone. I haven't posted for a while. My husband seemed to be getting stronger after his prostatectomy. But he has just shown me his throat today. It has a great big black area behind the tonsils and he is refusing to go to the doctor. Could it be an ulcer? He seems to have given up if he thinks he has cancer again. I don't know how to help him as I can't physically force him to go to the doctor. Any advice appreciated xx
Hello Leana (Leona4)
I don't think he should be leaving it - if it's anything sinister you need to know what it is and the professionals are the ones to go to. If he's refusing to see the GP, give 111 a ring.
I don't know his history and surgery for prostate cancer is major surgery - he doesn't want major surgery again so the best way to ensure he is alright is to get it checked out.
I hope this helps, please do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Leona (Leona4)
I know it's not ideal but as a "back up" plan you could pose the question to one of our nurses, here's the link:
