I’m had right side bowel removed. I’m struggling to get myself back together again and I’ve had up and downs just wondering if anyone feels that way and advice
Hi Porkie,I struggled after major surgery for bladder cancer.I don’t feel enough information is given on how you can be affected mentally. It’s draining physically and emotionally.I found it helpful to write down how I felt. When I started feeling better physically I wrote down 3 small tasks to try and achieve each day. That helped with motivation. It is tough, how long ago did you have your surgery ?
I think you have to be kind to yourself.I found gentle hobbies to do to pass the time.I spent time sitting outside as the birds and the animals helped. Now I’m 5 years on I can feel proud I got through it alone during the pandemic.Things will get better and you have to tell yourself that on bad days and take it a step at a time.I hope you feel better soon.Best wishes Jane
Hi winker60 thanks for your kind message my surgery was at end January this year I agree the after care not great
had two infections also had full knee replacement last may that’s not great
either was disappointed not as good as the surgeon made it out to be. Just been hard to find myself and I’ve been off sick from work so I’ve that to consider as well
