I’m on Kadcyla indefinetly. On this cancer bus since 2020 . My two youngest are literally growing up with this. I don’t know which forum I belong to. I’m not terminal nor finished treatment .  I feel like it just a bus I can’t get off lol. Anyone out there in my shoes.

  • Hi  I see you have already joined our dedicated……

       Breast cancer

       Breast, secondary cancer

……. support groups These group may well have people who are walking the same path but don’t use this specific general cancer chat group.

Go over to these group and put up the same post to widen your support base.

Talking to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.

    In way of some encouragement……

I was diagnosed in 1999 age 44 with a rare (8 in a million) hard to treat incurable types of slow growing Low-Grade Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when our daughters were 14 and 18…… I continued to work for 12 years in a demanding teaching job and yes had various treatments over these first 14 years then in late 2013 a second rare (4 in a million) more aggressive fast growing High-GradeNon Hodgkin’s Lymphoma came along taking me to stage 4……. so I had 2 years intensive treatments.…..

But we went on to see our daughters graduate, get married, set up very successful businesses and provide us with 4 beautiful granddaughters….. I turn 70 at the end of this year and as a family we celebrated 9+ years since my last treatment.

I am living a great life and we continue to look forward to what else life has in store for us to enjoy…….. I just read in another post on the community “when you are given lemons make lemonade”…… we have to define how we live and not let our cancer journey define us ((hugs))
