I've been scanned poked and prodded. Awaiting the big biopsy of my lung. How long does this l take?
Hi Willows74 I see it’s your first post so welcome to the community.
What type of cancer are you being investigated for?
I had a lung biopsy back in 2012 after a yearly monitoring CT for my Lymphoma picked up something on my lung…… it took about 3 weeks to see my respiratory Consultant then a further 3 weeks for the biopsy to be done….. results were in a week later.
I have Pleural Thickening and Pleural Plaque (Right Lung)….. Asbestosis. But this has not required any treatment as it remains stable.
Hi there,
I don't k ow what type of cancer I have as yet. I presume I have to wait until after the biopsy of the mass in my lung? I'm feeling like I'm in a tornado at the moment clutching at straws.
I have been on my cancer journey for over 25 years now so totally understand the tornado.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Cancer Support Groups (Discussion Rooms)………… so once you find out your type of cancer you can have a look through this link Cancer Specific Groups you will find all our dedicated cancer support groups listed.
These groups are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from members who are navigating the exact same journey.
Have a look through the LIST above and once you find the support group for your cancer type....... click on the link and when the group page opens you will see a [Black - Click to Join - Banner] at the bottom of the page, click in this box and this will then confirm that you have joined the group.
When you are ready……. you can introduce yourself by putting up your very own post by clicking [+ Create new post] or [+] in the top right of the group page.
