How can I maintain a relationship between my toddler and her grandparent going through chemotherapy?

Really anxious and stuck.

my daughter has such a close relationship with her nanny. Who started chemo today.

As you know toddlers are notorious at carrying all sorts of germs. And crash quickly with illness.

how can I ensure my daughter is seeing her nanny. But making sure nanny is safe from catching anything?

I’m so scared of my baby missing her nanny. And her missing my baby. But i’m terrified that my baby will cause an illness that may be really difficult for her to overcome or could impact on her treatments.

  • Hello

I understand the problem - and you still want to maintain contact - so for the little one how about turning the contact into a daily "pod cast" with Nanny using either mobile telephones, laptops or other electronic communication devices (you can tell I am old I would be writing letters!!).

That way there's daily contact but not physical contact and it's safer for both parties.

I hope this helps and I wish Nanny well with her chemotherapy.

    Best wishes - Brian.
