Hi, I've finished 2 round of EC chemo (6 to go..) and have been using the cold cap. Had no hair loss after the first one but in the week or so after the second have lost so much hair it has scared me. Have my next chemo in 3 days and will use the cold cap again
Has anyone had any experience of continuing with it even after hair loss? Is it worth it? Losing my hair has been the hardest part as I'm 33 and had waist length hair and it has been hard to see the bald patches come through so quickly...
Hi. My partner has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Adenocarcinoma. Treatable they said. She was told the chemo treatment she was prescribed wouldn't effect hair loss. Her first chemo session at Liverpool Clatterbridge. The cancer team where a little bit confused of the fact she hadn't been offered the cold cap as her chemo medication where the likely ones to cause hair loss after the oncologist telling us. No, you won't lose your hair with this particular chemo. Despite the misinformation from professionals we trust. The cold cap for my partner. She stopped after the 2nd session as the pain and discomfort wasn't worth the sake of braving the shave or opting for the fashionable wig. She opted for the wig for a week and now embraces the G I Jane look xx A Great Support network works wonders. Patient and carer xx
