Hi all, my mum has advanced endometrial cancer and is non operable so only given few months when diagnosed Sept 2024. She is currently going downhill quickly, on maximum of her oxycodone most days on slow release tablets and top up liquid. Is anyone know of a better pain relief..we don't have much support, district nurses won't come, doctors are reluctant to come. She is eating enough feed a sparrow..just. we as brother and sister are broken watching her and doesn't seem anything we can do.

  • Hello

A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although I am so sorry to find you here. I am Brian one of the Community Champions here. I can't answer your question myself as I have a different cancer, however I have a few suggestions for you.

    * The Community is divided into cancer specific groups and I would advise you to join the womb cancer group where you will connect with people on the same or similar journey as mum. Here's the link:

    Womb (uterus) cancer forum

Once you have clicked on the link click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page and then you can introduce yourself in the "New Here - Say Hello" section by copying and pasting or reposting your original post.

    * You could also join this group and I am sure there will be some great advice:

    Carers only forum

    * Our Support line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) will be able to offer help and advice - They are there for all the family.

I do hope the above helps. If I can do anything else for you please don't hesitate to contact me/

    Best wishes - Brian.
