Currently having Prostrap injections every 12 weeks however I will be holidaying in Thailand when my next injection is due. Is it possible to take the injection with you and have it administered in Thailand?
Has anybody any experience of any alternative to having to fly home mid holiday to have the injection
Thanks
Hi Sunshine17, if four injection is due in the first week you are away, you can have it early by up to a week, but not late, If you have a good GP, I'm assuming you get your injections through your GP, they can sort you a dose, along with the relevant paperwork, to take with you, you will have to find a local doctor to administer it, good luck.
Eddie
Hello Sunshine17.
Most Hormone Therapy treatments come in either 1, 3 or 6 month versions. Would it not be easier to either add in a one month dose or move to a 6 month dose?
I know I was on Decapeptyl and this was either 3 or 6 monthly. From memory I think Prostap comes in 1 or 3 month injections.

Thanks Millibob, 6 monthly injections would work as far as my trip away is concerned, hopefully it is an option regarding my treatment
Hello Sunshine17.
I was on the 6 monthly injections and it suited me fine. You would have to check with your GP however if you are happy on Prostap I would stick with it.
Are you aware on the Community we have a dedicated Prostate Cancer group and if you want to join us (I have Prostate Cancer) here's the link - we are a decent bunch!!

What was you taking in your 6 monthly injections. The Prostrap does seem to work for me with no side effects however every 6 months would suit me better. Thanks for the link....
Hello Sunshine17.
I started off on Decapeptyl 6 monthly injections from diagnosis. I have had the usual side effects but no issues with the injections.
Best wishes - Brian.
