Breast reduction

Hi. I have had a lumpectomy on my right breast last year and it has meant that it is significantly smaller than the left one. I have been to see my surgeon this morning to discuss reducing the left one.

She advised me that they won't be a perfect match so I am wondering if anyone on here has had it done and if it was worth it.

I have to consider if I want to put my body through another operation after all it's been through over the last 16 months and can I get used to having them looking so different.

I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you.

  • Hi

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community.

I had a lumpectomy a couple of years ago but didn't need to have reconstruction so don't have the experience you're looking for.

I wanted to pop on though to suggest that you also post this in the breast cancer group, which I can see that you've joined and posted in before, as you'll then connect directly with others who have had to make the same sort of decision as you.

Wishing you all the best with whatever you decide.

  • Thank you so much. I thought it was on the breast cancer group.

  • Hi Anne

I'm sorry but I don't know how to do it. I can't find any link

  • If you click here I've created a link which will take you to the breast cancer group.

To find the groups you have joined

    • click on your username
    • select 'groups'

You'll then see all your groups. To post in one click on it's name and you'll be taken there.

I hope this helps Slight smile
