Hi, my name is Lisa.
6 years ago they found a freckle behind my left eye.
Sent me away with no action required. I have regular eye tests with pecsaver. This week they were concerned and sent me to the local hospital eye department. They recorded that I now have fluid behind my eye. I am waiting a 2 week referral from Moorfields in London. I should here very soon.
I know nothing other than what I have reas which has scared the pants off me. You guys know more than I do and I wanted to each out. I'm 57 with 2 grown up children. Waiting to a nan one day. I'm not ready, I've hot so much to do. I'm meant to be going for our trip to Thailand on the 28th, booked in April.
Reading so much it seems that the fluid is leaking from the so called freckle. That prognosis is not looking good for the future or even to fly.
I would love to hear from someone who knows, I'm just guessing. I've already wrote myself off. Do t really mean 5 years tops??
Thank you.
Lisa
Hi Lisa Pacey and sorry to hear about your ongoing challenges......
We do need to watch what we read.... based on my 25 years journey with 2 rare types of Lymphoma a high percentage of the information out there is often out of date and does not reflect what is happening now...... to the point I would have passed away many times over these years.
Talking with others who have or are navigated the exact same journey can help so can I suggest you put up the same post in both our
and
.....support groups. These groups are safe places to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
The Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear.
Talking to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
((hugs))
Thank you so much for responding.
I really appreciate that, feeling very alone.
Lisa
A friendly and support voice is only one phone call away on the Macmillan Support Line ((hugs))
